City of Chicago Honors HIMSS, Extends Thanks for Global Conference & Exhibition

The Chicago City Council hailed the global health advocate Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society and its 2023 HIMSS Global Health Conference & Exhibition, widely regarded as the Davos Summit of healthcare information and technology. The council passed a resolution honoring the Chicago-based organization. 

Slated for April 17-21 in Chicago, the HIMSS Global Health Conference & Exhibition is the most influential health information technology event of the year. More than 40,000 professionals from across the global health ecosystem convene to forge relationships, learn from experts and discover innovative health tech products. The week-long event is also an economic boon to the city.  

“We are truly honored by the city’s warm reception,” said Hal Wolf, President & CEO of HIMSS. “Chicago is a world-class city, and we count ourselves lucky to be a part of its mainstays. I know our attendees are looking forward to exploring the city’s charm while learning, networking and sharing information to impact the global health challenges we all face.” 

Alderman Thomas Tunney of the 44th Ward introduced the resolution and touted HIMSS as a great partner and community stalwart in Chicago. HIMSS’s North America headquarters is in Chicago. The proclamation also praised the nonprofit society for providing tools to reimagine healthcare throughout the world by advocating digital healthcare. Read the resolution.
