From more than 40 competitors in the HIMSS Global Maternal Health Tech Challenge, a single winner emerged Aug. 10, 2021, at the Challenge Finals at HIMSS21 in Las Vegas.
CareSignal, a deviceless remote patient monitoring platform that engages large patient populations via evidence-based automated texts and phone calls, took the top prize at the 2021 competition.
The HIMSS Global Health Equity Network and Accelerate Health joined forces to host the HIMSS Global Maternal Health Tech Challenge, seeking solutions to save mothers’ lives across the globe. Teams from around the globe pitched innovative solutions to address maternal health issues pertaining to behavioral health or care coordination.
The CareSignal portfolio of more than 30 condition-specific and complementary support programs includes a maternal health suite that features perinatal/postpartum depression screening, gestational diabetes and breastfeeding programs to support women throughout their pregnancy and after they've given birth.
New and expectant mothers respond to evidence-based text messages or calls, reporting their condition-specific symptoms, behaviors, or challenges, providing valuable insight for care teams. If a mother reports a concerning symptom or behavior, CareSignal automatically alerts the mother's care team, enabling the mother to receive timely and proactive care, resulting in better outcomes for both the mother and her baby.
The three other finalists in the 2021 competition in Las Vegas included JANITRI, LiquidGoldConcept, Inc. and Nest Collaborative.
At HIMSS, our vision is to realize the full health potential of every human, everywhere. Be part of the community that’s transforming the global health ecosystem with courage, curiosity and determination.
