The 2024 HIMSS European Health Conference & Exhibition is set to be a pivotal event in European healthcare innovation, with a special focus on nursing, workforce development, and combatting clinician burnout and staffing shortages in the European continent.
HIMSS24 Europe is slated for 29-31 May at the Centro Congressi Roma La Nuvola.
Kicking off the conference is the highly anticipated Digital Nursing Summit, a two-part program that will delve into the cutting-edge advancements in digital support for nursing care. In light of the ongoing, global workforce crisis, the second part of the summit will be a dedicated focus on strategies to bolster and support nurses in their vital roles.
An entire programming track will feature engaging sessions aimed at enhancing clinical care and optimizing workforce efficiency. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore topics ranging from clinical decision support to virtual reality’s role in skill acquisition. The session “One Click Too Many - Reducing Operational Burden on Clinical Staff” led by Prof Georgi Chaltikyan, Head of Digital Health at Germany’s Deggendorf Institute of Technology will discuss the concept of reducing the operational and administrative burden on healthcare staff by streamlined documentation, simplified access and building workflow management solutions empowered by data and AI.

HIMSS24 Europe will feature experts from the nursing field who will share knowledge and updates from the global nursing field. Members of the HIMSS European Nursing Informatics Community and the Italian Nurses Association will be in attendance, in addition to other speakers such as Professor Pam Cipriano, president of the International Council of Nurses, Christine Antorini, nursing student and former Minister of Education in Denmark and Matthew Little, associate chief nurse - Digital / chief nurse information officer (CNIO) at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
